We contribute quality without entering into a price war

Young winemakers

Miguel Moreira was studying food technology in Lugo, but his passion was the enology. Thus it was prepared in a specialized center in Ponteareas and began to be employed at what actually was attracting him: the world of wine. After being employed at several Spanish wineries, he thought that there had come the moment to produce his own wine and with two more partners, the adventure begin  with Mar de Envero´s  brand, renting part of a warehouse and buying and controlling the production of grapes of his suppliers.

 «It was little crazy – Miguel explains - but the illusion can with anything , little by little, we were doing  place in the market with a wine of quality, few production and a reasonable price, though we will never be able to enter this price war of the big wineries». 

An initiative so risked like original.

The idea arises for what I saw in other countries, I did not invent anything, but it seemed to me to be interesting and especially realizable and with future. In a few so difficult times, it is true that we divide in disadvantage with respect to those who already are established, but it is not less that we obtain, based on work, illusion and imagination, a lot for a little time. Our natural market is the Spanish, but already we have clients in Mexico, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Japan, which gives us, encourages to moving forward. Galicia has a great potential in the world of wine and we are going to take advantage of it.

And to manage to have your own warehouse.

 I am sure that we will obtain, because we rest on the maximum quality and the innovation. We have two wines, Mar de Envero and Troupe, with the same base, but with different forms of elaboration. The first one is a wine that takes me one year to elaborate it, because it is made of less, that are the natural yeasts of the fermentation and that give it to wine structure, body and more duration in the time. Troupe is a young wine, an aromatic explosion of stone fruits, green apple, delicate and fresh. It is a more suitable wine for meet, that so much is done in Galicia and that his own name, inspired in the twenties, already us advances that it is the ideal one to share with the friends, with the troop. It was born really, because the client was asking for it us.

I assume that all this illusion will have an objective. What projects are you working currently?

I have many ideas and projects, but I would like to be able to work with autochthonous varieties, elaborated exclusive wines, obtain this Galician ideal wine that I have in my mind. What happens is that I have to go down to the reality and think that what is not profitable, as present, is not viable.
